Exciting 2018 Casting News! / End Of The Year Campaign! MSF's Hotly Anticipated 2018 Season On Sale! Artistic Director Janice L Blixt - director of Measure for Measure and The Rover - and Artistic Associate Robert Kauzlaric - director of The Tempest - are excited to share some of the casting decisions already made for the 2018 MSF Season. Many of these decisions were made back in June - July when the season was announced, others are more recent additions to our roster.

And we're thrilled to announce: Artistic Associate Janet Haley (seen most recently as Arkadina in THE SEAGULL, Bianca in THE TAMING OF THE SHREW, and Metella in JULIUS CAESAR-- and her Wilde-Award Winning performance as Jaques in 2016's AS YOU LIKE IT) will headline the 2018 Season as Prospero in THE TEMPEST. THE TEMPEST, to be directed by Artistic Associate Robert Kauzlaric, will feature a maternal Prospero, her throne usurped by her brother, raising her daughter alone on a desolate and magical island.Haley will also be featured as the Mother Abbess in the Victorian-Set MEASURE FOR MEASURE.

Artistic Associate Alan Ball (seen most recently as Gremio in SHREW, Cinna in JULIUS CAESAR, and Dr. Dorn in THE SEAGULL-- most recognizable as Falstaff in HENRY IV, Dogberry in MICH ADO, and Don Armado in LOVE'S LABOUR'S LOST, Bottom in MIDSUMMER, the Bastard in KING JOHN, and Feste in TWELFTH NIGHT) returns to the grateful MSF to play the monster Caliban in THE TEMPEST. Artistic Associate and audience favorite Brandon St. Clair Saunders (seen most recently as Cassius in JULIUS CAESAR, Tranio in SHREW, Gen. Buford / Maj. Sorrel in THE KILLER ANGELS, Oliver in AS YOU LIKE IT, Claudio in MUCH ADO, Hastings in SHE STOOPS TO CONQUER, Horatio in HAMLET, and Lysander in MIDSUMMER) will be featured in THE TEMPEST as Ariel and, in a complete opposite of a character, Lucio in MEASURE FOR MEASURE.

Audience favorite Robert McLean - General Longstreet in THE KILLER ANGELS, Bolingbroke in RICHARD II, and Duke Fredericke in AS YOU LIKE IT - and most recently seen in NY as the Pirate King in the Hypocrites PIRATES OF PENZANCE, the multi-talented McLean will return to the MSF stage this season as Angelo in MEASURE FOR MEASURE. Returning to the Michigan Shakespeare Festival after a three season absence, Detroit's own Edmund Alyn Jones - Posthumus in CYMBELINE, Rosencrantz in HAMLET, Westmoreland in HENRY IV, Faulkland in THE RIVALS, and the beloved Snout in MIDSUMMER - will be featured in MEASURE FOR MEASURE as the comic truth-to-power clown Pompey.
