Some 23-year old actors would be daunted by the prospect of portraying a cranky middle-aged man. But Ethan Hedeen is unfazed by his role as SheriDan Whiteside in Paul's Players upcoming production of the classic comedy The Man Who Came to Dinner.
"I've never played my true age in any role," says the Livonia native and graduate of the musical theater program at Western Michigan University. Hedeen, who already has more the 20 theatrical productions under his belt, says that playing an older person "takes a certain mindset. I just have to be careful not to overdo it!" Hedeen is not the youngest cast member in the show, which runs tonight, November 16 and November 17, and 18 at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church. That distinction belongs to Bernard Pagarigan, a 17-year-old senior at Franklin High School. The multi-generational cast also features Livonia residents Rachel Kain, Katie Frame, Rebecca Roberts, Rachel Harkness, and Ginny Hurst, as well as Richard Hutchison from Royal Oak and Karen Curtsinger from Canton.
