Dearborn Theater Announces 2017-2018 Season

Michael A. Guido Theater season will delight audiences with exciting lineup of performers.

A lineup of internationally celebrated artists will make the 2017-2018 season sparkle at the Michael A. Guido Theater, located in the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center.

Opening the new season will be The Nutcracker on Friday, Dec. 1 and Saturday, Dec. 2. This annual holiday favorite will feature principal dancers from the American Ballet Theatre and the Ballet Americana Dance Company and musicians from the Detroit Symphony Civic Orchestra.

Singer and Detroit-favorite Karen Newman will bring "Christmas Eve on Woodward Avenue" to the theater on Friday, Dec. 8, accompanied by the Henry Ford College Big Band.

"Shopkins Live!" will present their music, song and dance act on stage Wednesday, Dec. 13 and Thursday, Dec.14. The Spinners' concert on Saturday, Dec. 16 will encourage fond recollections of an earlier era with an evening of memorable Doo Wop music.

The festive holiday spirit will continue Saturday, Dec. 17 when country music stars Phil Vassar and Kellie Pickler come to Dearborn as part of "A Christmas Tour." (Pictured)

The new year will have more highly anticipated events, including the Moscow Festival Ballet's "Cinderella" on Saturday, Jan. 6. Concertgoers will want to buy tickets in advance for performances by popular singers who will be among the season's highlights, including LeAnne Rimes on Friday, May 11.
