Children's Theatre Network Presents OPUS MIME, 4/17

By:

Performance Network Theatre presents "Stories Beyond Words" on Saturday, April 17 at 1pm. This all-ages show, part of The Children's Theatre Network's Saturday Series for Young Audiences, will be followed by a milk and cookies reception.

"Stories Beyond Words" is a delightful collection of "stories" and sketches with plenty of fun costumes and music too! Most are hilarious, a few are tender and there's even a love story! Kids are invited to join in the show as they learn ways to communicate non-verbally with physical acting for a theatrical experience that is both fun and educational.

Michael Lee trained with legendary mime Marcel Marceau and is not only gifted at the type of mime you expect from a traditional mime show, but takes it further into an imaginative realm where full stories are created just through physical acting.

Founded in 1994, OPUS Mime is a professional, non-profit theatre company dedicated to creating and performing original mime theatre, as well as educating people about the unique art of mime. Under the artistic direction of Michael Lee, OPUS Mime has performed nationwide in unique works that illuminate elements of the human condition.

Tickets for "Stories Beyond Words" are $10 for adults and $7 for those under 16. Tickets can be ordered at the Performance Network Box Office at 734-663-0681, online at www.performancenetwork.org or by coming to Performance Network Theatre (120 East Huron St., Ann Arbor, 48104) Monday-Saturday 11-6 or one hour before a performance.

Children's Theatre Network is a touring program dedicated to awakening the creativity, intellect and compassion of our youth through the power and fun of live performance. Performance Network presents each of the productions one Saturday a month on its Main Stage. These shows are great entertainment for all ages and include a milk and cookie reception following each
performance.

Founded in 1981, Performance Network Theatre has grown from a fledgling company to Ann Arbor's only resident, professional theatre. The Network reaches 40,000 theatre patrons and children each year through the year-round Professional Series and The Children's Theatre Network. Performance Network also presents the Fireside Festival of New Works and a series of classes on theatre-related topics. The Network provides uncompromising artistic leadership in the region and produces works that engage, challenge and inspire audiences and artists.
