Celebrating Ten Years Of Go Comedy!

By:

Celebrating Ten Years Of Go Comedy! ImageThis fall, Go Comedy! will celebrate its tenth anniversary. The award-winning improv theater is kicking off its celebration with a community-wide scavenger hunt Saturday, July 21st. The Scaveganza will be followed by special shows and activities leading up to the theater's official anniversary on November 12.

Scaveganza officially launches celebrations for Go Comedy!'s tenth year by bringing together people from across Metro Detroit in a fun, rewarding event that will highlight businesses and places across the city of Ferndale. "From the day we first met with city officials about turning the Ferndale Secretary of State office into a comedy theater, this entire community has supported us 100%. From city officials to businesses to the residents, everyone has shared in our success and we want to share a big, fun event with them," states Go Comedy! co-founder and producer Pj Jacokes.

Registration is open for teams of four to compete in the event on Saturday, January 21 from Noon - 5pm. The hunt will take place from Noon - 3pm across the city followed by an after party celebration at Go Comedy! from 3pm - 5pm. The first-place team will each win a 10-year pass to Go Comedy!, a prize package featuring items from the participating business partners in the scavenger hunt, and Go Comedy! merchandise. Second and Third place teams will win tickets and prizes. All participants will receive a Go Comedy! T-shirt.

Scavaganza registration is $80 per 4-member team and is open now through Wednesday, July 18. Teams can register online at www.gocomedy.net. Proceeds from the event will benefit five great charities: Affirmations, The Catfe Lounge, DICo / Detroit Improv Festival, Ferndale High School Marching Band, and Gilda's Club of Metro Detroit.

In the fall of 2008 the former Ferndale Secretary of State office was transformed into Go Comedy! Improv Theater - a catalyst for hundreds of original shows, a robust improv academy, and an incubator for innovation, inspiration and integrity. Tjhe theater is celebrating its 10th anniversary and is home for hundreds of improvisers, at least 50 improv troupes, and a weekly schedule of hilarious award-winning programming that has garnered local and national recognition.

Go Comedy! Improv Theater is located at 261 East Nine Mile Road in Ferndale, MI 48220. For ten years, Go Comedy! has offered the finest in improv and sketch comedy, Go U! The Improv Academy training center, road shows, classes and workshops for private parties, corporations and schools.
