Celebrate Black History Month with McCree Theatre's LET NOBODY TURN ME ROUND

By:

Celebrate Black History Month with the New McCree Theatre's "Let Nobody Turn Me ‘Round," written by Reuben Yabuku, an original musical celebrating the life of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King and the Civil Rights Movement.

This first-run Gospel Musical play about Martin Luther King focuses on his nonviolent movement's Montgomery , Alabama Bus Boycott (ignited by Rosa Parks' refusal to give up her seat to a white patron on the bus in 1955), his Birmingham , Alabama protest for equal rights, and other monumental struggles that lead to his horrific assassination in 1968.

This high energy Gospel Musical is song and dance driven. Great songs with powerful and interpretive dance numbers are experienced throughout the show. Hear Martin's eloquent and fiery words from speeches, sermons, protest rallies and press conferences.

This musical shows that Martin said a lot more than the terse "I Have A Dream" excerpt that we only hear on MLK Day. This play shows that Martin Luther King, Jr. spoke and acted with passion and, though advocating nonviolence, was an extremely strong and determined leader.
