Bay City Players will end its run of the musical, THE PRODUCERS May 2, 2010 at the Bay City Players, 1214 Columbus Avenue, in Bay City. Performance times are 8:00 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Producers is directed by Tina Sills, Leeds Bird, Mike Wisniewski and Mike Dunckel and music director is Jim Pawloski.

THE PLOT: This fabulous musical won 12 Tony Awards on Broadway and ran for six years. Mel Brooks of Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles is the madman who put it all together. It's all about this loud and pushy Broadway producer who joins forces with this mild mannered certified public accountant to produce a huge Broadway flop. And when the flop becomes a small hit, jail becomes the next stop. What's best? Maybe the chorus girl kick line. Or may dozens of old ladies dancing with walkers. Or the gorgeous babe who applies as secretary. Or the collection of lunatics dancing and singing the wildest collection of songs to be found in a show in years. You decide.
