ANNAPURNA Plays the Purple Rose Theatre, Now thru 12/20

By:

The Purple Rose Theatre Company is thrilled to bring the bittersweet comedy, Annapurna by Sharr White to Michigan for the first production of their 24th Season.

What if you had experienced the defining moment of your life -- but couldn't remember it? Sharr White's heartfelt and remarkable play, Annapurna, deals with that dilemma and the unpredictable eccentricities of love. Named for the Himalayan Mountain, marriage can be just that kind of peak; we are compelled to make the climb, but not all of us survive the journey intact. Join us for this bittersweet comedy by one of America's most vibrant and lyrical new playwrights. Annapurna contains adult language and themes.

Annapurna will enjoy a fourteen-week engagement at The Purple Rose Theatre Company from tonight, September 18 - Saturday, December 20, 2014. Seven low-priced previews will be performed Thursday, September 18 - Wednesday, September 24, with Press Opening on Friday, September 26, 2014. Regular performances for the duration of the run are Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7:00 PM, Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM, with Saturday matinees at 3:00 PM and Wednesday and Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM. Please note the new times and low prices for Wednesday and Thursday performances this season!

Directed by PRTC Artistic Director, Guy Sanville, the cast includes Richard McWilliams (Dayton, OH) and Michelle Mountain (Grass Lake, MI).

Underwriting support for the season comes from The Ford Motor Company Fund, The Hamp Family Fund, and the Matilda R. Wilson Fund. Production sponsorship for Annapurna comes from Chelsea State Bank. Media Sponsors include Michigan Radio, ChelseaMich.com, Detroit Public Television, and Applied Storytelling.
