Lake Worth Playhouse Variety Show Features Artists from South Florida Talent Scene 

The Lake Worth Playhouse announces its second annual variety show: Take the Stage – Spring 2009! The performance takes place on Saturday, March 21, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. and features local South Florida entertainers singing, dancing and performing live music, magic, stand-up comedy acts and more.
 

After two open audition sessions, a team of Playhouse judges selected 16 performers with wide-ranging skills and a desire Take the Stage for their five minutes of fame.
 

“Our premiere variety show last October brought out some terrific talent,” said variety show director, Lisa Bankert. “We were thrilled to find even more new talent this time around. The Playhouse is proud to offer an artistic outlet to local talent, and entertain audiences with some truly top-notch performances!”
 

The Take the Stage artists will come together for one night only for the March 21st fundraising performance. All proceeds go toward operations for the not-for-profit community theatre, which is currently in its 56th season. Variety show audiences will be treated to a sneak preview of select musical numbers presented by the cast of upcoming main stage show, Always Patsy Cline (April 17 – May 3, 2009) and the annual Playhouse Pride Week drag show, Send in the Queens (March 27 & 28).
