'The Sound Of Music' - Final Shows At PPTOPA

By: Nov. 21, 2007

Rodgers and Hammerstein's classic, "The Sound Of Music," won the Tony award for Best Musical (actually it tied with "Fiorello" and they both beat out "Gypsy"!) and the subsequent and far superior film version won the Oscar for Best Picture and became the highest grossing film of its time.

The fabulous score includes the title song, MY FAVORITE THINGS, EDELWEISS, CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN, SIXTEEN GOING ON SEVENTEEN, DO RE MI, HOW DO YOU SOLVE A PROBLEM LIKE MARIA?, and other greats that are not currently filtering into my aging mind.

The  last weekend for "The Sound of Music" at The Pembroke Pines Theatre Of The Performing Arts is fast approaching - (they are taking a break for Thanksgiving weekend).   The final shows are Friday, November 30th at 8:00pm; Saturday, December 1st at 2:00 & 8:00 and Sunday, December 2nd at 2:00pm.  You can order tickets online at www.pptopa.com or by calling 954-437-4884.

Please check out:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1UTS2CsNus  if you would like to see a short preview of the show.
