Orlando Repertory Theatre (The REP) presents The Berenstain Bears On Stage: A Bear Country Musical through March 28th, based on the classic children's books by Jan and Stan Berenstain.

Five favorite Berenstain Bears stories are brought to life by "the world's foremost expert on the famous residents of Bear Country", Cowboy Joe. Take a stroll through Bear Country with Mama, Papa, Brother, and Sister Bear as they learn life's little lessons. Brother bear learns how to accept new responsibilities with the arrival of his new baby sister. When Mama bear is upset with the cubs' because of their messy room, Papa Bear helps the cubs get organized. Brother and Sister Bear learn the important lesson that honesty is the best policy. Farmer Ben gives Brother Bear advice on how to deal with the bad influences of bullies, and Sister Bear learns to get over her stage fright.

Stan and Jan Berenstain introduced the Berenstain Bears in their 1962 book The Big Honey Hunt. Throughout the last few decades, the Berenstain Bears have been seen in picture books, television shows, toys, and now, on the stage. Director Jeff Revels says, "Parents are now sharing the books with their children that they read as a child themselves. The stories are great ways to discuss valuable life lessons through humorous and heartfelt stories of ordinary, everyday family experiences".
