theprometheantheatre@yahoo.com About the play The Country Club..."If I have everything going for me and I still feel nothing, what does
that say about everything?"
In this comedy by Douglas Carter Beane (As Bees in Honey Drown), he
takes aim at young WASPs and their social rituals as they spend their
lives going from one party to the next searching for the 'American Dream'
and ignoring, between cocktails sips, the tragedies no one wants to talk
about. As one of his young socialites observes "We all have our little
stories and nobody brings them up. That's what's known as community
spirit."
