The Colony Hotel, which is widely recognized as the Palm Beach Home of the Great American Songbook, is promising guests and fans "Intimate Evenings" on Saturdays this summer from 7 to 10:30 pm. The Colony's world famous Royal Room has been transformed into a refined Manhattan-style nightclub, now offering elegant dining and dancing on Saturday nights.

After her knockout performance in the Royal Room on June 6, The Colony is bringing back delightful song stylist Jill Switzer on Saturday, June 27. When it comes to Palm Beach entertainment, Jill Switzer's name has been at the top of the list for the past 25 years. Since the age of 16, she's performed with various bands and orchestras at many of The Island's most exclusive and sophisticated venues, honing her vocal style on Porter, Gershwin and Berlin tunes. She's shared the stage with Ann Hampton Callaway, Marilyn Maye and Mary Wilson, to name a few, and has recorded with The Four Freshmen and Nicolas King. In addition, Jill is a published author and co-hosts "The Morning Lounge" with her husband/musical director Rich weekdays on Legends 100.3 FM in Palm Beach County.

With a shiny new dance floor and music by Frank Derrick from the Palm Beach Pops, couples can arrive and depart on their own schedule. While there won't be the traditional hour-long cabaret shows, guests will enjoy two performance sets by Ms. Switzer.

Appearing this Saturday night, June 20, is the award-winning duo of Eric Comstock & Barbara Fasano.

The summer menu in the Royal Room will be creative and imaginative, also reminiscent of the swinging 60s, and prepared by The Colony's award-winning culinary team. Entrée items will include USDA "Prime" beef aged in-house and several fresh and delicious seafood selections. Best of all, many of the savory choices will be prepared with herbs and vegetables grown in The Colony's all-natural on-site garden.

For dinner, performances and dancing in the Royal Room on Saturdays this summer, the cost is $100 per person, not including drinks. Without dinner, the cover charge is $50 per person with a two-drink minimum. Seating is limited so interested people should make reservations soon by calling 561.659.8100.
