THE GOODBYE GIRL The Musical Comes to The Pompano Beach Cultural Center

Curtain Call Playhouse is proud to present the first South Florida production of The Goodbye Girl, The Musical in more than fifteen years. The delightful romantic musical comedy, based on Neil Simon's award-winning film, will have four performances at The Pompano Beach Cultural Center. Tickets are available at www.ccpompano.org or call 954-545-7800 for more information.

We are delighted to bring this iconic film to life with a wonderful score and an array of heartfelt and humorous lyrics, said Artistic Director Kris Coffelt. We are dedicating this season to showcasing plays written by the late Neil Simon, and The Goodbye Girl, is one of his most brilliant.

The plot follows the film's, featuring the unlikely romance between Paula, a single mother who has been jilted one too many times, and Elliot, the opinionated actor who shows up unexpectedly on her doorstep with a lease to sublet her apartment. Simon's collaborators for the musical were Marvin Hamlisch (A Chorus Line) who wrote the tuneful score and lyricist David Zippel (City of Angels, Disney's Hercules). The Broadway show was nominated for five Tony Awards including Best Musical.

The three central characters are played by Melissa Burde as Paula, Sara Weinstein as her daughter Lucy and Rob Romero as Elliot. The musical is directed by Jerry Jensen, and Jerry Berger is the Musical Director & Orchestrator.

Pompano Beach Cultural Center, is located at 50 W. Atlantic Blvd. Pompano Beach, FL 33060
