Suncoast AIDS Theatre Project Presents The Alternative Theatre 6/28 With Sordid Lives
The Suncoast AIDS Theatre Project is proud to announce its 6th Annual Night of AlterNative Theatre with Del Shores' SORDID LIVES, Monday, June 28, 2010 at the American Stage Theatre Company, 163 Third Street North, downtown, St. Petersburg. Proceeds from this event will benefit Metro Wellness and Community Centers; an organization that provides services to people living with HIV and AIDS.
Del Shores comedy SORDID LIVES is a twisTEd White trash tale that puts the "fun" in "dysfunctional"! The hilariously sordid details about a southern family surface when relatives converge for the funeral of Grandma Peggy who died tripping over her lover's wooden legs. Toss in a couple of feuding daughters, crazy, cross-dressing Brother Boy, a jumpy aunt that can't quit smoking, a strip-tease hostage situation of the men-folk by two stoned and scorned Sisters in-laws. An outrageous night of comedy and laughter, Warning! This quirky 90-minute romp contains sexual innuendo and mature subject matter. Gasp! SORDID LIVES stars JOEY PANEK and SHARon Scott along with several members of the Tampa Bay theatre community, all who are donating their time and talents for this worthy cause.
The Suncoast AIDS Theatre Project is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization whose mission is to raise awareness, provide assistance, and perpetuate a life of dignity for those affected and infected by HIV and AIDS.
Tickets are "Pay What You Can". A cash bar will be available. To order tickets call the American Stage Box Office at (727) 823-PLAY. Doors open at 7:00 with a curtain time of 7:30.
