SMT TO OPEN SUMMER TICKET SALES EARLY

DAYTONA BEACH, FL- Seaside Music Theater (SMT) will open up general ticket sales on Monday, March 10th for the 2008 Summer Season, a few months earlier than its usual summer sales opening.

With a huge demand for tickets for this summer's productions, especially for Les Misérables (June 12 - 29) and The Wizard of Oz (July 10 - 27), SMT Artistic Director Lester Malizia did not want to make potential ticket buyers wait.

"It's a no-brainer.  People want the tickets.  And we want to sell them.  We are happy to give customers what they want," says Malizia.

In addition to Les Mis and Oz, SMT's subscription season will include Backwards in High Heels (July 31 - August 24), a new musical about the life of Ginger Rogers, and Altar Boyz (August 28 - September 21,) the award-winning musical comedy that recently exploded Off-Broadway.

Malizia encourages those interested in purchasing a subscription to call or visit SMT's Box Office immediately to take advantage of the priority seating benefit available to subscribers.

"There is a smaller window than usual for subscribers to get their orders and seat choices to the Box Office before general ticket sales begin.  We are so grateful to those who commit to us for the entire summer, and we want to make sure they have every opportunity to take full advantage of their subscription benefits."

Other SMT subscription benefits include free parking, two complimentary tickets to the children's production, Miss Nelson Is Missing (May 23 - July 26,) two 50% off "Bring a Friend" vouchers, free ticket exchange, and $2 off additional single tickets purchased.

To purchase single tickets on or after March 10th or to purchase subscriptions now, call 386-252-6200 or visit the Seaside Music Theater Box Office located within the News-Journal Center, 221 N. Beach St., Daytona Beach.  You can also purchase single tickets online at WWW.SEASIDEMUSICTHEATER.ORG on or after March 10th.

Subscriptions are also now on sale for the Winter 2008-09 Season, which will include the timeless classic Our Town (November 6 - 23), A Christmas Carol (November 26 - December 14), a musical retelling of the holiday favorite, and The Enchanted Cottage (January 22 - February 8), a beautiful new musical based on the classic film.
