its 32nd season, presents the 2004 Tony Award Winner for Best
Revived Musical: Stephen Sondheim's ASSASSINS. The show runs August
5 through the 21st at the Main Street Playhouse in Miami Lakes.
Winner of the 2004 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical,
ASSASSINS is a one-act historical "revusical" that explores the dark
side of the American experience. From John Wilkes Booth to Lee
Harvey Oswald, Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman bend the rules of
time and space, taking us on a nightmarish rollercoaster ride in
which assassins and would-be assassins from different historical
periods meet, interact and in an intense finale inspire each other
to harrowing acts in the name of the American Dream. The time line
comes full circle when the others persuade Lee Harvey Oswald to
avoid alienation by assassinating JFK. ASSASSINS plays August 5
through the 21st, 2005 on Friday and Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday
afternoons at 5pm at the Main Street Playhouse, located at 6766 Main
Street in the heart of Miami Lakes, in the Shops at Main Street.
Tickets range from $10.00 15.00, and group and member discounts
are available. Tickets are available when the doors open 30
minutes prior to show time. Discount tickets are now available by
secure online purchase with a major credit card.
