SALUTE TO VIENNA returns to the VAN WEZEL PERFORMING ARTS HALL with a new cast and program on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at 8 p.m.

Experience the joy and magic of a Viennese New Year when SALUTE TO VIENNA returns to the Van Wezel with a brilliant new cast: The Strauss Symphony of America, led by Viennese maestro Christian Schultz, is joined by Hungarian soprano Beatrix Lázin, Viennese tenor Joachim Moser, and members of the Kiev-Aniko Ballet of Ukraine and international champion ballroom dancers. A musical bouquet of favorite polkas and famous operetta excerpts by "Waltz King" Johann Strauss Jr. and his contemporaries inspire and delight.

Entering its 17th season, the SALUTE TO VIENNA concert series has become a favorite holiday musical tradition throughout North America. It is wonderfully reminiscent of Vienna's famous and beloved Neujahrskonzert, performed by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra for over 70 years and televised annually to over 1.3 billion people across the globe. Over the past decades SALUTE TO VIENNA has grown into the largest live concert series of its kind in North America. For the 12th consecutive year SALUTE TO VIENNA promises to bring the same splendor, charm and beauty to the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. Start the year off right and embrace this joyous New Year's tradition.

Ticket prices range from $32.10 to $73.83. For more information and to buy tickets, contact the Van Wezel Box office at (941) 953-3368 or log onto www.vanwezel.org.
