The emergence of the poster as a potential form of high art begins
with the work of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, the first artist whose
career was driven by the culture of advertising. One of the great
popular arts of the modern age, the poster had its heyday in France
in the 1890s and early 1900s. Lautrec's interests in lithography led
him to make it a major part of his work. Adults $8, Seniors 65/older

Ballet Florida Presents: Romeo and Juliet

of the most popular love stories ever told when it presents Romeo
and Juliet, a passionate ballet performed in three dynamic acts.
Romance, anger, envy and hate combine to make this full-length
ballet a must see performance on March 17 and 18 at The Kravis
Center for the Performing Arts. Renowned choreographer Vicente
Nebrada created this version of the tragic love story for Ballet
Florida's first season. It is set to music by Serge Prokofiev. March

Betye Saar: Extending the Frozen Moment
