MAD CAT THEATER COMPANY PRESENTS PAINTED ALICE
AS PART OF MIAMI LIGHT PROJECT'S LIGHT BOX STUDIO SERIES

Miami Light Project continues its Light Box Studio Performance Series
with Mad Cat Theatre Company's production of the southeastern premiere
of Painted Alice by William Donnelly.  A whimsical tale of an artist's
path to creativity loosely based on Lewis Carrol's Alice in Wonderland,
the story follows Alice, a young painter on the rise who is struggling
with a commission and a rocky relationship with her lover. After eating
a bad mushroom, Alice falls into her uninspired canvas whereupon she
meets a cornucopia of colorful characters that help Alice with her
omnipotent dilemma of what it means to be an artist.

Painted Alice stars Mad Cat company members Michaela Cronan (Action,
Trembling Hands, Fell in Love with A Girl, Cope and Shoot) Joe Kimble
(Waiting for Godot, Matt and Ben, Artful Dodgers, Trembling Hands, Fell
in Love with a Girl, Cope, Shoot) Erik Fabregat (Waiting for Godot,
Action, Betty's Summer Vacation, Cope, Here in my Car), Scott Genn
(Waiting for Godot) and guest actors Katie Amadeo and Heather Gallagher.

Painted Alice is directed by Stuart Meltzer, and also features the
Mad Cat Theatre Company's award winning resident designers: set design by
Paul Tei, lighting design by Travis Neff, costumes by Karelle Levy
sound design by Natan Samuels and film by Ashley Karen Beecher.
