Neil Simon's 'Rumors' At Lake Worth Playhouse

By: Jun. 03, 2008

Impromptu Pro presents Rumors At the Lake Worth Playhouse June 6th, 7th & 8th

Neil Simon's Rumors is a high-speed, farce that takes place in modern-day New York. When four couples come to Charley and Myra Brock's engagement party, mayhem ensues when Myra goes missing and Charley is found with a gunshot wound through his earlobe. The guests then take the party into their own hands, and when the police arrive, the couples put on the performances of their lives.

Directing Rumors and designing its set is Bryce Cutler, whose past credits include Greater Tuna at the Cuillo Centre for the Arts last summer, and the recent Dreyfoos main stage production of West Side Story. The show stars Ben Viertel, Aubrie Sheffey, Kayla Tome, Jimmy Warren, Rebecca Limerick, David Tiegen, Heather Hewko and Eric Fagan. Lighting is designed by Dillon Pettyjohn, and Sophia Mysel is the sound designer.

Rumors is the first production from Impromptu Pro, a company formed by Gwendolyn McKenzie, Dillon Pettyjohn and Bryce Cutler.

Rumors will run Friday, June 6, through Sunday, June 8 at the Playhouse at 713 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth. Show times are 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are available at the box office or by ordering in advance at (561) 586-6410 or online at
