Patrice Bailey, Dean of Theater at NWSA highlighted, "This play offers an opportunity for our students to connect to a hate crime committed on a young man and to explore the different points of view of a story. It is my hope that our students will become activists of tolerance."

Time Magazine calls The Laramie Project, "A pioneering work and a powerful stage event." Considered by many to be one of the most startling and honest theatrical experiences in the past 20 years, The Laramie Project depicts the events of October 6th of 1998 when Matthew Shepard was beaten and left to die tied to a fence in the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming. He died 6 days lateR. Shepard's torture and murder became a watershed historical moment in America that highlighted many of the fault lines in our culture.
