ABOUT THE PLAY…

"Solve That Crime" is a One-Woman interactive murder mystery
with audience participation.  Several members of the audience (who
volunteer to read parts) will play the roles of suspects, friends,
family, informers and detectives as Barbara Fox (playing the part of
a television talk show hostess) asks the audience to solve an
unsolved crime.

The crime to be solved is the mysterious death of Professor Clark
Mason who recently won a million dollars on a television show and
invited friends and family to a party to celebrate. During the party
he went out onto the balcony and fell to his death.....or was he
pushed? The suspects include the sponsor of the show, the professor's
sister (and only heir,) his fiancé, the host of the show, a fortune
teller, a long lost daughter and possibly several informers who have
information to share.

Everyone had a motive and it is up to the guests to listen to
the evidence, examine clues, share information and try to figure
out "Whodunit."

If you'd like to try your hand at being a detective and
solving the murder you can do so at The Steak and Ale Restaurant on
Wed, June 7th at 7 pm.

Author Barbara Fox is the producer/director of Mystery on the Menu
Inc, an interactive theater company she founded in Washington DC in
1986. She moved to Florida five years ago where, in addition to the
standard murder mystery plays, she developed the unique One Woman
Mystery with audience participation.

"The play is fun and sociable." she says, "No one has lines to
memorize, I distribute pages of the script to the volunteer actors
and all they have to do is stand up and read their lines at the
right time. It's not like a play that you just sit and watch,
everyone has a chance to participate. It's like a live game of Clue.
I started writing and producing murder mysteries twenty years ago
because I think people like to play, to laugh and get involved as
opposed to just sitting and watching."

Barbara presents her one-woman mysteries aboard cruise ships and for
corporate and private events. She can tailor them to a particular
business or theme (birthday, anniversary) and she has special
mysteries for kids with a robbery theme.
