Michael Amante: From Pavarotti to Broadway plays February 28 & March 1 at 7:00pm

Take a romantic journey from Pavarotti to Broadway with Michael Amante, "The People's Tenor." This unforgettable evening will feature the world-renowned singer accompanied by a nine-piece orchestra, as he performs an eclectic mix of show tunes, operatic arias, Italian favorites and romantic standards.

Amante is nothing if not versatile. A Syracuse, New York native, he got his start singing in a rock band. He eventually began to learn Broadway show songs and, as he recalls, "about a dozen opera arias phonetically in Italian." He discovered that he was a natural for the classical genre.

Amante's self-titled debut album, released in 2001, was an all-classical work that landed him near the top of Billboard's Midline Classical Artists chart, just ahead of Pavarotti, Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras. His subsequent albums have featured Broadway classics, romantic ballads and Gospel standards.

Amante is known for his remarkable ability to hit and sustain a high "C" (one of the highest notes in a tenor's range) with ease - a comparison to his mentor, Pavarotti. His effortless, soaring style and emotionally riveting delivery create a sensational performance that you'll remember long after you've left the theater.
