Lee Blessing's Crime Thriller 'Down The Road'

ALLIANCE THEATRE LAB PRESENTS "DOWN THE ROAD"

The ALLIANCE THEATRE Lab continues its season with Lee Blessing's crime thriller, Down the Road.

This drama entails a battle of wills between two reporters and their subject.

Iris and Dan Henniman are married journalists who are assisting Bill Reach, a convicted serial killer, in his memoirs. As he weaves his tales of debauchery, the couple gets drawn further into a downward spiral that tests their working and personal relationship. Blessing's compelling work takes us on a journey where dreams of ambition and control go hand in hand; depending on how much we are willing to pay for those dreams.

Lee Blessing is the playwright of such respected works such as Patient A, Fortinbras, Cobb, and Two Rooms. He has been lauded with Pulitzer Prize and Tony nominations and has written over twenty plays in his career. Currently, Mr. Blessing heads the graduate playwright program at Mason Gross School of the Arts (Rutgers University, New Jersey).

The ALLIANCE THEATRE Lab was founded in 2001 as the Modern Stage producing contemporary works written by Don Nigro (Seascape with Sharks and Dancer), Will Kern (Hell Cab) and Adam Rapp (Nocturne, Red Light Winter). In 2005, under a new moniker, the Lab opened with David Mamet's American Buffalo. This year, the Lab will run a three play season that opened with a critically acclaimed production of Steven Dietz's Lonely Planet and will finish with Beautiful Thing by Jonathan Harvey in April.

This production of Down the Road opens November 30th and plays until December 17th, 2006 at the Main Street Playhouse, 6766 Main Street, Miami Lakes. For reservations and for more information, please call (305) 567-2721.
