Jacksonvlle Ice & Sportsplex Announces Paula Wagener As Executive Skating Director

Jacksonville Ice & Sportsplex is pleased to annouce the addition of Paula Wagener as Executive Figure Skating Director. In this new position, Ms. Wagener will continue to reside in Albany, NY, while remotely overseeing the strategic direction and overall operations of the facilities Learn to Skate and Figure Skating Programs.

Ms. Wagener is a PSA Master Rated Choreographer and Style Coach. Her professional experience includes chairing the US Figure Skating Basic Skills Committee, serving as past national vice chair for US Figure Skating and a past member of the US Figure Skating Athlete Development Committee. Her nationally developed Artistry in Motion Program is now used by US Figure Skating as a badge program in their Basic Skills curriculum. In addition, Ms. Wagener was the Figure Skating Director for Seven Bridges Ice Arena, in Illinois for four years. She was also the Executive Director of Figure Skating Operations, for Advanced Arenas Inc. for 10 years; managing Figure Skating Directors in multiple facilities. During the summer months she coaches with the world acclaimed Litz Team in Lake Placid, NY at the Olympic Arena.

One of Ms. Wagener's first tasks will be to recruit an on-site Figure Skating Director. The on-site director will mentor under Ms. Wagener, managing all programs and handling all day to day operational issues. Ms. Wagener will handle all strategic decisions, including programming, coaches education, training, and camp curriculum.
