Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra to Present 'Barber and Bolero' 9/23-25
By: Abigail Arnold
The Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra will present 'Barber and Bolero' on September 23 at 7:30pm and on September 24 and 25 at 8:00pm. The concert will feature Fabio Mechetti as conductor and Terrence Wilson on piano.
The orchestra says, "We celebrate Samuel Barber's centennial in American style with his Piano Concerto featuring one of our country's most gifted young artists, Terrence Wilson. The hypnotic power of Ravel's Boléro is a feast of tonal color and Prokofiev's score to Romeo and Juliet infuses passion and drama to the evening." In addition, the concert will include Buck's 'Festival Overture on the American National Air (The Star-Spangled Banner).'
