All guests of Ground Up & Rising's productions will receive free admission all night long when providing their Ground Up & Rising ticket stubs at the front door of Club Bed, located at 929 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach. Dress code is strictly enforced. We should always dress for the theater.  It deserves the respect.

"Our recent productions of On An Average Day at ArtSouth in Homestead and GableStage in Coral Gables were very well received by patrons and critics alike," says Jose Terrier, Marketing Director for Ground Up & Rising. "As the resident theatre company of the City of Miami Beach, we are thrilled to be able to share this gripping play with our Miami Beach neighbors."

"I am enormously impressed with this production!" stated Joe Adler, Producing Artistic Director for GableStage. "Two brilliant performances! I promise you, it's well worth your time!"

Starring Arturo Fernandez & Arnaldo Carmouze, On an Average Day is a darkly humorous tale about the nature of redemption. After being alienated for years, two brothers are reunited in a rotting apartment where they remember a dark shared history which includes the mysterious disappearance of their father. Bob is a slovenly sociopath facing a long prison sentence for throwing a man from a car. Jack seems successful and disciplined but is nursing his own considerable demons. What transpires between them is a fervent reminder that an unresolved past leaves a minefield between what lies beneath and any promise for resolution. On an Average Day by John Kolvenbach has received international critical acclaim:

"On An Average Day is an emotionally charged play, monumental in its passion, and mind-boggling in its intensity. You will be left with admiration and wonderment for a play that is beyond awesome."  - Curtain Up

"Four Stars!" - Guardian (London)

"Provocative and chilling. A thought-provoking play." - Hollywood Reporter

This production fulfills Ground Up & Rising's ongoing commitment to give young, local artists valuable opportunities through its signature programs. Young adults from the Ground Up & Rising "Bridging the Gap" Mentorship Program will assist in many capacities on this production. This performance is made possible by the City of Miami Beach Cultural Affairs, Miami-Dade Cultural Affairs, the Board of County Commissioners, WLRN, Club Bed and Iglesias Management.
