The Golden Apple Dinner Theater is pleased to announce their 2011 winter theater season. This season will include a Tony winning Best Musical, as well as an appearance by Dame Edna! Take a look at what the Golden Apple will be presenting this winter!

A Royal Audience with Dame Edna
Starring Michael L. Walters

January 4th-January 16th
Limited Engagement

Michael L. Walters has been delighting audiences for over ten years with his impersonation of Dame Edna which Provincetown Magazine calls "a dead-on homage to the famous saucy Aussie." Walters is so perfect as Dame Edna that Barry Humphries, creator of Dame Edna Everage, calls his performance "spectacular!" The longest-running authorized Dame Edna impersonator, Michael is also the only impersonator who wears replicas of the Dame's fabulous gowns and even performs her classic musical numbers! Walters delivers a "theatrical tour de force" (says Orlando Weekly) as the world's most iconic and entertaining gigastar!

I Do, I Do

Starring Heather Kopp and Craig Weiskerger
January 18th - Feb 13th

Craig proposed to Heather on our stage in front of a live audience at the curtain call to Lil' Abner. This is our valentine to them and to you. The show begins with Michael and Agnes on their wedding day and traces their life together over a period of 50 years, until the day they leave their house to the next pair of newlyweds. We watch them go through their wedding night jitters, raise a family, negotiate mid-life crises, quarrel, separate, reconcile and grow old together, all lovingly to the strains of a tuneful, charming score by Harvey Schmidt and Tom Jones (The Fantasticks) and includes the standard "My Cup Runneth Over."

Avenue Q (mature audiences only)

February 15th - April 10th

The triple Tony Award winning Avenue Q is coming to the Golden Apple!

AVENUE Q is the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. He soon discovers that the only neighborhood in his price range is Avenue Q; still, the neighbors seem nice. There's Brian the out-of-work comedian and his therapist fiancée Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his roommate Rod -- a Republican investment banker who seems to have some sort of secret; an Internet addict called Trekkie Monster; and a very cute kindergarten teaching assistant named Kate. And would you believe the building's superintendent is Gary Coleman?!? (Yes, that Gary Coleman.) Together, Princeton and his newfound friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life.

Entertainment Weekly said...
"Avenue Q is the best show of the year! Just when you're wheezing with laughter from the hummable, hilarious tunes, you're blindsided by a beautifully sincere love song. There's no handy way to describe Avenue Q except as one of the funniest shows you're ever likely to see."

Peter Marks of the Washington Post said... "Rekindles your faith in the American Musical."

Ben Brantley of the New York Times said... " A thoroughly infectious musical that qualifies as a serious blessing."

Winner of the Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Original Score. 6 years on Broadway and still running in NY!

Note: Avenue Q is for mature audiences only.
