Gangsters, Gambling and Girls! The Wick Theatre Presents GUYS AND DOLLS

Considered the perfect musical comedy, Guys and Dolls, takes the stage at The Wick Theatre from March 9th through April 9th. Based on the short stories of Damon Runyon, with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and a book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, Guys and Dolls won the Tony Award for Best Musical, ran for 1,200 performances on Broadway, and became an Oscar nominated film starring Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra. Set in Depression-era Times Square, Guys and Dolls is about a couple of big city gamblers and the women who love them. It tells the overlapping stories of high-roller Sky Masterson, who falls in love with mission worker Sarah Brown, and lovable rapscallion Nathan Detroit, engaged for 14 years to Miss Adelaide, a headliner at the Hot Box Club. Nathan runs a famous floating crap game, and an ongoing plot line involves his quest for a safe place for the game as Adelaide continues her quest to convince him to marry her. Meanwhile, Sarah, mistakenly believing that Sky set up an illegal game at the mission, tries to fight her affection for the charismatic crapshooter.

About the Cast:

AARON BOWER* (Sarah Brown) Last seen on the Wick stage as Dorothy Brock in 42nd Street, M'Lynn in Steel Magnolias, and Nelly Cohan in George M. Other Florida credits, Cabaret (Fraulein Kost), Crazy for You (Tess), The Sound of Music (Sister Sophia),Hello, Dolly!, and Fiddler on the Roof at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. She performed all over the states and Europe in 4 tours.

Wayne LeGette* (Nathan Detroit) is happy to make his debut at the Wick Theatre with Guys and Dolls. Caldwell audiences will remember him starring in Sunday, Follies, Into the Woods and The Secret Garden. He previously worked with Jeff Moss on the Int'l tour of West Side Story, and in both The Rothschilds (Coconut Grove) and Rags (Coconut Grove & Paper Mill Playhouse) he also played "Nathan's". Wayne is a two-time Carbonell award winner, seven time nominee, and a multiple Broadway World Miami & Los Angeles nominee. He will soon appear in the web series Tycoon, directed by Louis Leterrier.

Timothy John Smith* (Sky Masterson) is a New England native, now residing in New York. Recent Film and TV: Central Intelligence, The Equalizer, The Judge, Blacklist, Mysteries of Laura. Coming soon: Neon Joe, Werewolf Hunter as "Big Lair" and Kathryn Bigilow's currently Untitled Detroit Project, which he can't talk about. Jeffrey B. Moss (Director) is the award-winning director of the critically acclaimed recent Off-Broadway production of Bock and Harnick's Rothschild & Sons which will soon be seen in London. He often directs newly imagined productions of classic musicals such asGolden Boy (with a new book by Leslie Lee) and Rags seen at The Coconut Grove Playhouse and Paper Mill Playhouse and his work also includes the development of new plays and musicals such as Before the Dream by Charles Strouse and Leslie Lee, Passin' it On by Larry Atlas and Terry Cashman, The Jazz Club by John Nassivera, Mermaids, based on the MGM film and Charles Strouse's Real Men. He has staged over 35 national and international tours including Guys and Dolls, Hello, Dolly!, Man of La Mancha, The Sound of Music, Peter Pay, On the 20th Century, The Music Man, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Music of the Night, Annie, West Side Story, 42nd Street, Annie Get Your Gun, Mame, A Funny Thing...Forum, Damn Yankees and Saturday Night Fever. Plays directed include Master Class, Ali, Normanm is That You?, Lady Day at Emerson's Bar and Grill and The Sunshine Boys. In New York, he directed the hit musical Mayor by Charles Strouse and Warren Leight, the Cy Coleman/Neil Simon musical Little Me, Bill Boggs' Talk Show Confidential and was the director of the New York and Kennedy Center productions of Some Enchanted Evening,now part of the Rodgers and Hammerstein Library. He directed the stage and television versions of Barry Manilow's musical, The Drunkard, starring Tom Bosley. His acclaimed international production of My Fair Lady just premiered in China and his new production of Spitfire Grill will open in San Diego later on this season.

James Olmstead (Musical Director) returns to The Wick after music directing West Side Story earlier this season. When not in Florida, he is in New York conducting for Broadway's On Your Feet and music directing at the John W. Engeman (latest credits of Mamma Mia, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Memphis, West Side Story, The Producers, A Chorus Line, and Evita). He recently served as music supervisor for the national tour of Fame, and just spent the holiday season conducting orchestras across the country for Cirque Musica Holiday Spectacular. In addition to being a music director, he has served as synth programmer for the Off-Broadway production of Fun Home, keyboardist for Radio City's New York Spring Spectacular, New York Summer Spectacular and assistant copyist for the upcoming Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. With his writing partner Omri Schein, he is the composer of several musicals including Mambo Italiano, and Gary Goldfarb: Master Escapist (NYMF 2013), and he arranged the hit cabaret show Broadway Swinger with collaborator Ben Eakeley.

KELLY SHOOK (Choreographer) is thrilled to return to The Wick, where she directed I Love a Piano, and Swing!, (Carbonell Nominations for Best Choreography.) Kelly made her Broadway debut as the SDCF Choreography Observer on A Night with Janis Joplin. Selected Director/Choreographer Credits: Les Miserables, Pirates of Penzance, 42nd Street, Big River, Anything Goes. Choreography: Music Man, Carousel, Crazy For You, among others. Faculty at NWSA, Miami, for two academic years. Performance: "Betty Haynes" at The Wick in White Christmas, "Anytime Annie" 42nd Street in Moscow, Russia, "Kathy Selden" in Singin' in the Rain US Tour, and "Adelaide" in her high school production of Guys and Dolls.
