Fugard's Exits and Entrances-East Coast Premiere at Manalapan's Florida Stage

EXITS AND ENTRANCES, BY WORLD-ACCLAIMED PLAYWRIGHT ATHOL FUGARD, HAS
EAST COAST PREMIERE AT FLORIDA STAGE
Manalapan, FL - Nov 29, 2005 Florida Stage, Florida's award-winning
regional theatre dedicated to new and developing works, proudly
presents the East Coast Premiere of acclaimed author Athol Fugard's
Exits and Entrances, December 6 through January 15, at the theatre's
facility in Manalapan's Plaza del Mar.

Based on Fugard's experiences in South Africa between 1956 and 1961,
Exits and Entrances tells the true story of a life-changing
friendship between an idealistic young playwright and a celebrated
older actor, one finding his artistic and political voice while the
other struggles against the shadow of being forgotten.

Having had its world premiere at The Fountain Theatre in Los Angeles
last year, Exits and Entrances is the latest in Fugard's large body
of work, which spans more than sixty years. Fugard is hailed as a
major force in South Africa's struggle for freedom in the face of
apartheid, prompting Time Magazine to call him "The greatest living
active playwright in the English-speaking world."

The cast will include Morlan Higgins, seen in 2003 at Florida Stage
in The Calvalcaders, and William Dennis Hurley. The actors
originated their roles of André and The Playwright, respectively, in
the world premiere production, receiving much acclaim and numerous
awards, including 5 Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Awards and 3
L.A. OVATION Awards.
