THE IMPORTANCE OF A NEW YEAR

BRINGS ANOTHER CLASSIC TO GHOST LIGHT

The Ghost Light Series next reading will be the Oscar Wilde comedy, The Importance of Being Earnest.

When a bachelor explains to his friend how he keeps two identities in separate parts of town, so that he can extract business from pleasure, his friend takes it upon himself to investigate the bachelor's double life. Therefore creating a turn of events that cause chaos and hilarity at the same time, spiraling into an unexpected conclusion.

This stunning success is the standard where all other comedy of manners were set upon. Opening in London, 1895, Earnest took mistaken identity and ridiculous schemes, making it into a hilarious ride from start to finish, paving the way for writers like Noel Coward, Tom Stoppard, and Alan Ayckbourne to walk in Wilde's footsteps.

The Ghost Light Series is now in its second year of showcasing Southeast Florida talent in play readings of established works. Oscar Wilde's master opus continues the tradition of presenting plays from some of the world's greatest literati.

This presentation of The Importance of Being Earnest will be on Tuesday, January 30th, 2007 at the Oakland Park Library, 1298 NE 37th Street. The Admission is free and the reading begins at 7:30pm. For more information, please call 954-270-0998 or e-mail ghostlightseries@yahoo.com
