Florida Theatrical Association, in partnership with TRUE Marketing and Artful Events, presents the international hit musical ALTAR BOYZ at The Abbey in downtown Orlando October 12 through November 13. Tickets are $26 and can be purchased through Ticketweb.com or by calling 1-866-468-7630. Tickets can also be purchased in-person at the Florida Theatrical Association box office located at 100 South Eola Drive, Suite 101 (Monday-Friday, 10 am - 5 pm). Performance times vary, visit www.AbbeyOrlando.com for details.

Winner of the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical, ALTAR BOYZ tells the holy story of a heavenly boy band trying to save the world one screaming fan at a time. Join five small town boys - Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham - and their pious pop act as they work wonders around the country with their hits "Girl You Make Me Wanna Wait" and "Jesus Called Me On My Cell Phone." With Angelic voices, sinfully spectacular choreography and a touching story, ALTAR BOYZ is sure to rock the masses of all denominations.

"We're excited to be able to make this new venture for Florida Theatrical Association, made possible with the establishment of The Abbey in downtown Orlando," said Executive Producer, Ron Legler. "This new production of Altar Boyz is sure to entertain audiences with its sharp parody, uproarious humor and lighthearted fun."

The production of ALTAR BOYZ playing at The Abbey is directed by Steve Mackinnon with choreography by Kim Ball. Featuring a book by Kevin Del Aguila, music and lyrics by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker and conceived by Marc Kessler and Ken Davenport, ALTAR BOYZ made its official Off-Broadway debut on March 1, 2005. After five laugh-packed years and 2,032 performances, Altar Boyz closed Off-Broadway on January 10, 2010, but continued its side-splitting run with national United States tours and international resident productions in Korea, Hungary, Finland, Australia, Montreal and the Philippines.

The Abbey is a mixed use venue that delivers exciting live entertainment on a nightly basis. The space was designed to accommodate everything from concerts and comedians to community theater and cabaret acts. The Abbey's full-service bar, spacious elevated stage and state-of-the-art lighting and sound systems make it the perfect location to host private parties and birthday bashes or enjoy a night of live music out with friends.
