Florida Grand Opera Expands Songfest To Broward County

Florida Grand Opera (FGO), the Josephine S. Leiser Opera Center and Steinway and Sons Piano Gallery Miami are pleased to announce "Songfest South Florida," a free concert series performed by members of FGO's Young Artist Program featuring a variety of classical singing styles.
"Our Young Artists have been working diligently to prepare this concert series," says Mitchell Roe, new Young Artist Program Coordinator at Florida Grand Opera. "We are proud to be able to bring this wonderful program to both our Miami-Dade and Broward audiences."
FGO currently has four events scheduled in each county for this series. The series opens in November with a program including selections by Georges Bizet, Maurice Ravel, Jacques Ibert, Robert Schumann and Pauline Viardot. Each recital will feature a handful of members from FGO's Young Artist Program and will be approximately 75 minutes in duration.
In hopes of attracting working professionals, performances will be held on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Doors will open for all events at approximately 30 minutes prior to start for a pre-performance reception.

Songfest Broward #1 is on Sunday, November 20, 2016, with 5:30 Doors Open, and the recital beginning at 6 PM.
Songfest Miami #1: Friday, December 2, 2016 begins at 7:00pm (Doors Open), with the recital beginning at 7:30 PM.
Songfest Broward #2: Friday, January 20, 2017 begins at 7:00pm (Doors Open), with the recital beginning at 7:30 PM.
Songfest Miami #2: Saturday, January 21, 2017 begins at 7:00pm (Doors Open), with the recital beginning at 7:30 PM.
Songfest Miami #3: Saturday, February 4, 2017 begins at 7:00pm (Doors Open), with the recital beginning at 7:30 PM.
Songfest Broward #3: Sunday, February 5, 2017 begins at 5:30 pm (Doors Open), with the recital beginning at 6 PM.
Songfest Broward #4: Friday, March 31, 2017 begins at 7:00pm (Doors Open), with the recital beginning at 7:30 PM.
Songfest Miami #4: Saturday, April 1, 2017: begins at 7:00pm (Doors Open), with the recital beginning at 7:30 PM.
