Curtain Call Productions to Wrap Season with AVENUE Q, 4/4-13

By:

Curtain Call Productions will present their last show of the season, the Tony Triple Crown Winning Avenue Q at their home in Flagler Place in Historic Downtown Stuart from April 4th-13th. Avenue Q takes a Sesame Street-esque interpretation on a group of 20-somethings figuring out life on Avenue Q, with a few puppets, a few monsters and former child star Gary Coleman.

"This is a show that turned Broadway on its head," says Artistic Director Jake Sanders, who also stars as Princeton, a young college grad looking for his purpose, and Rod, a closeted investment banker, putting a whole new twist on the 'Bert & Ernie' dynamic. "It took these moments from our childhood, like these Sesame Street style puppets, and put them on stage talking about sex and racism and being completely irreverent. It's some of the best comedy out there in musical theatre." With songs like "If You Were Gay", "The Internet is For Porn", "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist" and more, Avenue Q is guaranteed to have you laughing the entire show.

With direction from Heidi Condon, the professional cast is poised to begin a puppet workshop with professionals from Slow Burn Theatre in Boca Raton. "The puppets add such a unique dynamic to the show. The actor is no longer the focus and they have to learn to communicate using the puppets, which is no easy process," says director Heidi Condon.

Avenue Q stars an ensemble cast including Artistic Director Jake Sanders playing Princeton/ Rod, NY Actress Jenna Pinchbeck as Kate Monster, a lovable young kindergarten teacher who falls for Princeton and Lucy T. Slut, the star of Girls Gone Wild and local club singer, Phil Isme as Brian, an aspiring stand up comic, Michelle Lucey as Christmas Eve, Brian's Asian wife and a social worker, Hadiyyah Noelle Smith as former child star and current Superintendent Gary Coleman, and Keith Lawson as Nicky, Rod's roommate and Trekki Monster, an internet sexpert.

"Avenue Q has always been a dream show of mine," says Jenna Pinchbeck, who's returning from New York to play Kate & Lucy. "I can't wait to hone my skills as a puppeteer and I'm absolutely thrilled to be performing in my hometown again!"

Avenue Q runs April 4th-13th at Flagler Place in Historic Downtown Stuart with performances at 8PM on the 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th and and at 2PM on the 5th and the 13th at 201 Flagler Avenue, Stuart, FL-34994. The show runs approximately two hours and 15 minutes with a 15-minute intermission.
