FIU THEATRE presents A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM.
The show will be directed by Phillip M. Church and will take place on the University Park Campus of FIU in the Wertheim Performing Arts Center Mainstage Theatre. Showtimes are February 7-18 @ 8:00pm Thursdays through Saturdays, and 2:00pm on Sundays. Tickets are $12.00 for General Admission and $10.00 for Senior Citizens and FIU Students.A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM was first produced on Broadway by the legendary Hal Prince and directed by the equally legendary George Abbott, with choreography by the master, Jerome Robbins (West Side Story, Fiddler On The Roof.) It won the Tony for Best Musical and for its star, Zero Mostel. Revivals on Broadway starred Phil Silvers and Nathan Lane, both of whom were also Tony'd for starring in Forum. After Nathan Lane departed the Forum revival a few years back, it gender bent and starred Whoopi Goldberg. Whoopi was then followed briefly by David Allan Grier.
