MONTY PYTHON'S SPAMALOT, LERNER & LOEWE'S MY FAIR LADY AND LERNER & LOEWE'S CAMELOT STARRING Lou Diamond Phillips, THE HIGH-FLYING CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY AND STEVEN SONDHEIM'S SWEENEY TODD ANNOUNCED BY BROADWAY ACROSS AMERICA-PALM BEACH TO MARK FIVE-PRODUCTION 2007-2008 FAREWELL SUBSCRIPTION SERIES AT KRAVIS CENTER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS.

 

Following a glowing history of presenting major Broadway musicals and plays since its inaugural season in 1991, the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts will host the 2007-2008 final season of Broadway Across America-Palm Beach with a brilliant parade of legendary and contemporary musicals including a duo of Lerner and Loewe's most enduring classics, a hilarious outing that continues to play to sell-out audiences on Broadway, a flight of fancy and air-borne artistry to thrill all ages, and the ultimate triumph of a Broadway icon whose work has established him as the definitive composer and lyricist of his day.

Set to open the season October 30-November 4 will be Lerner and Loewe's ever-glorious MY FAIR LADY, with the international cast of Cirque Productions CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY scheduled to launch the New Year with performances January 8-13, 2008. The non-stop hilarity of Monty Python's SPAMALOT will keep audiences laughing into Spring, from March 11-16, with Lou Diamond Phillips starring as King Arthur in Lerner and Loewe's CAMELOT, April 15-20.  As the season's grand finale, from May 13-18 Palm Beach audiences will applaud Tony ® Award-winning director John Doyle's revolutionary new production of Steven Sondheim's brilliant SWEENEY TODD.

For long-time and recent Broadway Across America subscribers who have been attending the 17 years of productions, a series of options will allow all to enjoy the upcoming 07-08 season in their current seat locations at Kravis while at the same being offered the opportunity to transfer their season tickets to the 07-08 subscription series to Broadway Across America-Fort Lauderdale.

Presented at Broward Center for the Performing Arts, all Kravis subscribers who transfer to Broward will be able to avail themselves of the added perks of higher priority seating for 2008-2009 season locations and the additional high priority opportunity to purchase tickets to the Broward Center productions of the blockbuster musicals Disney's THE LION KING now through June 3, 2007, THE RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR starring The Rockettes November 8 – December 2, 2007 and WICKED March 12 – April 6, 2008.

Lerner and Loewe's MY FAIR LADY / October 30 – November 4, 2007

MY FAIR LADY, Lerner & Loewe's legendary musical, premieres in the United States direct from its 50th Anniversary London production and U.K. national tour. Starring are acclaimed British theatre actors Christopher Cazenove and Lisa O'Hare who earned rave reviews for their dynamic performances as Professor Henry Higgins and Eliza Doolittle. "The cast is superb!" "A more perfect Higgins I have yet to see!" Based on the Cameron Mackintosh/National Theatre of Great Britain's award winning London sensation, and hailed as "the revival against which all others will be measured" this glorious, new production features one of Broadway's most beloved scores including "The Rain in Spain," "I Could Have Danced All Night' and "Get Me to the Church on Time" and brings together the original U.K. artistic team with direction by four-time Tony ® winner Trevor Nunn ( Les Misérables), choreography and musical staging by two-time Tony ® winner Matthew Bourne (Mary Poppins) and production design by Anthony Ward (Gypsy).

CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY / January 8 – 13, 2008

In the ongoing tradition of spectacular touring productions, Neil Goldberg and Cirque Productions have once again reinvented the circus with European flair, imaginative theatrics and world-class acrobatics. CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY is an all new adventure that takes audiences soaring into a magical forest through the air and on stage. An international cast of graceful aerialists, spine bending contortionists, vine swinging characters, strong men and balancers bring this jungle dream to life in a lush, Broadway setting filled with wildly unpredictable designs, special effects, inventive choreography, puppeteering and dazzling costumes. CIRQUE DREAMS JUNGLE FANTASY is an exhilarating journey the entire family can experience together.

Monty Python's SPAMALOT / March 11 – 16, 2008

Winner of the 2005 Tony ® Award for Best Musical, Monty Python's SPAMALOT is the outrageous new musical comedy lovingly ripped off from the film classic "Monty Python and The Holy Grail." Directed by Tony Award-winner Mike Nichols, with a book by Eric Idle and music and lyrics by the Grammy Award-winning team of Mr. Idle and John Du Prez, SPAMALOT tells the tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table as they embark on their quest for the Holy Grail. Flying cows, killer rabbits, taunting Frenchmen and show-stopping musical numbers are just a few of the reasons audiences everywhere are eating up SPAMALOT.

Lerner and Loewe's CAMELOT starring Lou Diamond Phillips / April 15 – 20, 2008

Stage and film star Lou Diamond Phillips will wear the crown in this magnificent new production of Lerner and Loewe's timeless musical. Tony nominated for his Broadway performance in THE KING AND I, Phillips takes on the role of King Arthur. The enchanted kingdom of CAMELOT is a place where honor and chivalry reign. But can this idyllic land survive when Queen Guenevere falls in love with Sir Lancelot? The splendid, memorable score includes the romantic and haunting "If Ever I Would Leave You," the captivating "How to Handle a Woman" and the majestic "Camelot." Re-discover the grandeur of one of history's greatest love stories.

SWEENEY TODD / May 13 – 18, 2008

Innovative, intimate and ingenious, this revolutionary new production of SWEENEY TODD "is an event theatergoers will be talking about for years." ( The Wall Street Journal ). The legendary demon barber, hell-bent on revenge, takes up with his enterprising neighbor in a delicious plot to slice their way through London's upper crust. Justice will be served—along with lush melody, audacious humor and bloody good thrills. Directed by Tony ® Award winner John Doyle, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by Hugh Wheeler, this dazzling reinvention of a magnificent musical thriller is set to stun theatergoers as never before.

Beginning May 18, season tickets for the Broadway Across America – Palm Beach 07-08 season will be available and will range from $119.00 - $402.00.
