Bay Street Players opens Phantom, one of the most appealing American Musicals of recent years, on February 4, 2011. This musical will run four weeks through February 27, 2011 at the historic State Theatre in downtown Eustis. Phantom is generously sponsored by Bowen Radon Schroth, PA. One week before the opening of the production 60% of available seating has been sold.

The Tony award-winning team of Maury Yeston and Arthur Kopit of Broadway's Nine and Titanic have transformed the timeless novel "The Phantom of the Opera" by Gaston Leroux into a musical in the grand manner. This is a story about fathers and sons, lovers and mothers and also about how music connects to the deepest parts of the soul. Yeston's music underscores this story with gorgeous melodies that are the sort of tunes one leaves the theatre humming.

Miranda Robinson plays Christine Daee, the young singer who becomes the Phantom's secret voice student. Miranda is a student at Leesburg High School where Artistic Director David Clevinger first saw her perform in Little Women. Michael Osowski, who was last seen on the Bay Street stage as Houdini in Ragtime, portrays the mysterious Phantom who haunts the Paris Opera House. This mesmerizing Phantom is traditional musical theatre in the finest sense and is sure to capture your heart.

Artistic Director David W. Clevinger serves as the Scenic Designer as well as the Director of the production. Bay Street Players is pleased to welcome Beau Mahurin as Musical Director.

Phantom opens February 4 and closes February 27. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening performances begin at 8:00 p.m. Sunday matinee performances begin at 2:00 p.m. Also, there is one Wednesday performance on February 16 at 8:00p.m., and one Saturday matinee performance on February 26 at 2:00 p.m. Patrons attending the opening night production on February 4 are invited to a complimentary reception with the cast following the performance at Olivia's Coffeehouse & Bistro.
