The Colony Hotel opens another sizzling, song-filled summer with some really hot performers straight from Manhattan's leading cabarets — all of them returning favorites for loyal fans of the Royal Room Supper Club!

Hold on! She returns to open the fabulous Summer Season in her 6th engagement in The Royal Room at The Colony. Cabaret icon and 2009 Nightlife Award winner Baby Jane Dexter brings with her critically acclaimed show, IF... (what might have been...what could have been...what is!) to The Royal Room at The Colony beginning May 22 through May 30. The schedule is as follows: May 22-23 (Fri-Sat) and May 29-30 (Fri-Sat). All shows are at 8:00 PM.

This return engagement also celebrates the eagerly awaited release of her live CD recorded at Metropolitan Room in NYC. The new album, recorded and mixed live by Jeanne Pierre Perreaux, is edited and mastered by highly respected recording executive/producer/engineer Andre Gauthier (RCA, Sony, etc.) "Following a chance meeting with Andre Gauthier, whom I knew from his studio work with some legendary names, the project was set in motion. Andy has mastered celebrated recordings for the The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, RCA Living Presence Reissues, the Enrico Caruso restorations, Sergei Rachmaninoff catalog, Maury Yeston, Donna Murphy and Marilyn Horne among others. "I'm very happy with the results and, clearly, something wonderful happened worth preserving. Now, everyone can hear it!" This album follows the success of Ms. Dexter's 2008 recording, "You're Following Me." "I heard from so many people who were affected by this last show, 'If,' and also wanted to know if it had been recorded. My fans have been so loyal, I'm so happy that this CD is being released. It is for them."

Known for wrenching the inner meanings of lyrics from unlikely songs, the program includes compelling selections by songwriters as diverse as Rodgers & Hammerstein, Leslie Bricusse, Burt Bacharach & Hal David, Harry Nilsson, Lucinda Williams, Bonnie Branlett and Kander & Ebb. Ross Patterson is Music Director/Arranger.

Writing in The New York Times, Stephen Holden said about Ms. Dexter, "The phrase 'keeping it real' and all it suggests certainly applies to Baby Jane Dexter, a longtime cabaret performer whose booming pop contralto is one of the more formidable voices on the New York nightclub stage."

Widely considered to be one of the top cabaret venues in the country, The Colony's Royal Room Supper Club has scheduled an audience-pleasing line-up of top performers. Each of the summer cabaret headliners will do an 8 p.m. show on Fridays and Saturdays, with doors opening at 6:45 p.m. for dinner.

The cost for dinner and show in the Royal Room Supper Club this summer is $85 per person and $50 for show only. To make reservations, please call the hotel box-office at 561.659.8100. The Colony is located at 155 Hammon Avenue in Palm Beach.
