Vaneese Thomas to Celebrate Women of Soul at the Halloran Centre

The On Stage at the Halloran Centre music series kicks off with "A Tribute to the Women of Soul" by VANEESE THOMAS with special guest CARLA THOMAS on Friday, September 8th at 7:30pm. Tickets are on sale now for this memorable evening of music.

"A Tribute to Women of Soul" is a musical, historical and social presentation of pioneering women in R&B. It's an upbeat show that swings from the 50s into the southern soul of the 60s and 70s and shows rural influences and gritty urban instrumentation. "A Tribute to Women of Soul" captures not only the spirit of the times in music but tells backstories of Vaneese's relationship to these women and their influence on her as an artist. Some are personal and reflect the hardships of African Americans during segregation. Featured songs include Etta James - "Tell Mama", Aretha Franklin - "Do Right Women, Do Right Man", Tina Turner - "Nutbush", and others. Vaneese Thomas creates a genuine atmosphere where the legacy of this incredible music thrives.
