This winter, experience the warmth of one of the most charming heroines of all time in the Roxy Regional Theatre's production of HEIDI, opening Saturday, January 19, at 2pm.

Johanna Spyri's beloved classic is a heartwarming tale of an orphan sent to live with her hermit-like grandfather high in the Swiss Alps. In a role shared by Kourtni Cottrell and Madeline O'Connor, Heidi ultimately transforms the lives of many people -- among them a well-to-do but sickly girl, Clara (played by Gavin Berlyak and Lauren Mund); Peter, a goatherd, and his blind grandmother; and, above all, her embittered, reclusive grandfather.

Adapted and directed by John McDonald, HEIDI also features Ryan Bowie (Mr. Sesemann), Matt Casey (Peter), Leslie Greene (Miss Rottenmeier), Colin Ryan (Grandfather) and Jill Whittinghill (Aunt Detie / Granny).

HEIDI plays 2pm performances on January 19, January 26, February 2 and February 9. Tickets are $20 (adults) and $15 (ages 13 and under) and may be purchased online at www.roxyregionaltheatre.org, by phone at (931)645-7699, or at the theatre during regular box office hours (9am to 2pm, Monday through Friday).
