The Orpheum Theatre and The Memphis Symphony Orchestra will partner to offer Disney's most beloved songs in Disney in Concert: Magical Music from the Movies. Presented by Kroger, this concert of symphonic arrangements combines the famed Walt Disney Studio songbook with synchronized video and live singing. Performances will take place at The Orpheum Theatre and include an evening presentation on Saturday, March 28 at 7:30 PM, and a 2:00 PM matinee on Sunday, March 29, 2015.

After production expenses, proceeds from this special engagement will benefit The Memphis Symphony Orchestra. The nonprofits' goal is to raise $150,000 through sponsorships and ticket sales. The performances will also allow the Orpheum to better acquaint its Broadway theatergoers to the Memphis Symphony.

"As a leader in arts education, we understand how important it is for children and their families to experience all aspects of the fine and performing arts, including the Symphony," said Orpheum President and CEO Pat Halloran. "This event offers our patrons an enriched arts experience while allowing us to support the Memphis Symphony and its mission."

Sixty-five members of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra will perform in Disney in Concert: Magical Music from the Movies. The two performances will also include the talents of four Broadway caliber singers, animated film sequences, and music from Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Aladdin, The Lion King, Pocahontas, Frozen and other classic Disney films.

"We are grateful to Pat and to the Orpheum for helping us bring orchestral music to a wide audience through this special event," said Roland Valliere, President and CEO of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra. "Audiences will love experiencing Disney's timeless songs in an entirely new way. Whatever your passion - music, theatre, movies, creativity, even poetry - Disney in Concert will satisfy it all and, at the same time, will support the Symphony."

Tickets will go on sale to the public on Monday, December 1st and will be available for purchase online at the official Orpheum Theatre website, www.orpheum-memphis.com, The Orpheum Box Office (901.525.3000), the ticket counter at The Booksellers at Laurelwood, and all Ticketmaster centers (901.743.ARTS). Options for family-friendly ticket prices will be available to ensure that all members of the Memphis community have the opportunity to share in this special concert experience.

The Orpheum Theatre and Memphis Symphony Orchestra recognizes Kroger for its generous support as the event's presenting sponsor. In honor of Kroger, patrons of the Sunday matinee performance are encouraged to bring canned food or monetary donations for the Mid-South Food Bank.

"Kroger is honored to sponsor this spectacular concert event," said Tim Brown, President, Kroger Delta Division. "We invite the entire community to support the Orpheum and the Symphony in this exciting endeavor, and we also hope that patrons will take the opportunity to pay it forward by helping hungry families with a donation to the Mid-South Food Bank."

Pre-sale VIP packages are available now and will include exclusive access to a special Princess-themed event. For more information regarding VIP packages, sponsorships, or donations, contact Jane Mims at 901-537-2518 or jane.mims@memphissymphony.org.
