2018-2019 On Stage At The Halloran Centre Season Revealed

Today, the Orpheum Theatre Group announced the lineup for the 2018-2019 On Stage at the Halloran Centre series. In addition to the 13-part music Series and 3-part theatre Series, the On Stage season will introduce Kafé Kirk: a special concert series created by Grammy Award-winning saxophonist and Memphis native, Kirk Whalum. Tickets for all events are on sale now.

"With this third season, the Halloran Centre has begun to take its place as downtown Memphis' premier performing arts venue," said Ron Jewell, Vice President of Halloran Centre Operations. "In the upcoming months, the Halloran Centre will play host to both living legends and rising stars, in one of the Mid-South's most stunning performance halls. We are especially excited to partner with Memphis' own music icon, Kirk Whalum!"

The genre-spanning music series begins with Grammy Award-winning country and roots artist Rodney Crowell. Other select highlights include actor Dennis Quaid as lead vocalist for his band Dennis Quaid and the Sharks; three-time Grammy nominated soul singer Bettye Lavette; Music of the Knights, a special celebration of the music of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Elton John, and Sir Paul McCartney; founding member of The Supremes Mary Wilson; the Grammy-nominated songwriter and pianist Jim Brickman on his Share the Love tour; Prince of Spanish Guitar Benise; and The Orbert Davis Jazz Ensemble. The music series is sponsored for the first time by Evolve Bank & Trust.

"As a local community bank, Evolve Bank & Trust is proud to provide the title sponsorship to the Halloran Centre Concert Series," says Scott Stafford, CEO and President of Evolve Bank. "The Halloran Centre is an asset to our community, and not only does it provide entertainment, but it is committed to making the arts accessible to all Mid-South youth. Evolve is honored to be able to help contribute to this concert series which attracts a variety of performances celebrating our diversity."

The theatre series kicks off in mid-November with a production of Tony Award-winning musical Ain't Misbehavin followed by the National Players' production of Arthur Miller's searing drama The Crucible. The series concludes with New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players' production of The Pirates of Penzance in March 2019.

In its inaugural season, Kafé Kirk will bring a sophisticated, groovy, jazzy, spiritually uplifting mix of musical excitement to downtown Memphis. On designated first Sundays beginning this October, Kirk Whalum will invite some of his good friends to share an intimate evening of music that will provide an exclusive look in to what exactly makes these artists who they are and what motivates them.

Single tickets and packages are on sale now. Choose five or more shows from the music and theatre series and save $5 off each show (not applicable for Kafé Kirk or select Benise tickets). VIP tickets are available for Kafé Kirk and Benise performances. For more information call 901.525.3000 or visit orpheum-memphis.com/onstage.
