Heart of Duckness at Studio Theater at Portland Stage

Set at the Berlin Conference of 1884, this darkly absurdist comedy follows Penaquill, the delegate from Portugal, as she tries to stop Leopold II, the King of Belgium, from subjugating Africa's duck nations. She finds an unlikely ally in Mr. Duck, the folksy delegate from the United States. The play explores the evils of colonialism in the style of Animal Farm.
