Theatre Offers Two Weekend Trips See Broadway's Brightest Stars

By:

Penobscot Theatre Company is thrilled to announce the itinerary of its Seventh Annual Weekend Trip to New York City, April 7-9, 2017, featuring Bette Midler's return to Broadway for the revival of Hello, Dolly! also starring David Hyde Pierce (Curtains, Frasier). "Described as the most breathlessly anticipated event of the season," said Executive Director Mary Budd, "this show shattered Broadway box office records when tickets finally became available, so we feel very lucky to be able to share this opportunity with local theatre lovers." On its second night in the Big Apple, the group will see Cynthia Nixon and Laura Linney in Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes.

The theatre also recently announced its inaugural Teen Trip to NYC, February 18-20, 2017, offering high school and college students the chance to see two musicals that have Broadway abuzz: Dear Evan Hansen, starring Ben Platt (Pitch Perfect), andNatasha, Pierre, and THE GREAT COMET of 1812, starring Josh Groban. "This specially curated trip offers a great opportunity for teens engaged in our educational programs or their schools' drama clubs to experience the technical wizardry and astounding performances of Broadway's best. But you don't have to be a diehard 'theatre nerd' to register as the trip will be loads of fun for everyone, even if you don't know Andrew Lloyd Webber from Frank Lloyd Wright!" The Teen Trip will be chaperoned, but registration is open to adults who wish to accompany their children.

Travelers in both the February and April groups will enjoy round-trip deluxe motor coach transportation from Bangor; lodging at a boutique hotel in the heart of the theatre district; several meals; and access to behind-the-scenes experiences only Penobscot Theatre Company can provide.

For the adult group in April, the complete weekend package is available for $1,200 per person based on double-occupancy lodging ($1,350 for a single room, $1,100 for a triple, and $1,000 for a quad). The Teen Trip is available for $1,000 per person, based on shared occupancy. Space is limited. To register or obtain more information, call the Box Office at (207) 942-3333 or visit www.penobscottheatre.org.
