Penobscot Theatre's Dramatic Academy students will perform a variety of plays they have developed while also attending classes and workshops. Over forty students have studied acting, voice, stage combat, dance, and clowning in order to share their new experiences with the community in a performance setting.

Education Director Jasmine Ireland says, "I've been blown away by the progress from Day 1 to preparing for production. It's amazing how shaping raw talent with technique can blossom into performances that are bold, confident and definitely imaginative."

The Session 1 Series will feature productions that are based in Shakespearean plays and sonnets with a particular focus on versions of Romeo & Juliet. All shows are available to the public and most are family friendly!
