MAD HORSE THEATRE COMPANY is proud to present the second production of its 30th Anniversary Season -TREVOR - a play that is sure to warm up those cold January nights!

Inspired by true events, TREVOR, by Nick Jones, is a subversive comedy about fame, success, and the lies we tell ourselves in order to keep people from taking away our erratic, 200-pound chimpanzee.

At the center of this hilarious and heart-wrenching play are two individuals fighting against a world unable to understand their love: Trevor, a chimpanzee who once performed in commercials with the likes of Morgan Fairchild, and his owner Sandra, who swears Trevor would never hurt a fly...at least not on purpose. TREVOR is a moving exploration of family, flawed communication, and humanity.

The cast of TREVOR includes Mad Horse Company Members Brent Askari, Burke Brimmer, Shannon Campbell, Allison McCall, and Mark Rubin, along with Guest Artists Grace Bauer and Danny Gay.

TREVOR is directed by Mad Horse Artistic Director Christine Marshall.

The Design and Production team includes Reba Short (Production Manager), Julie Murphy (Stage Manager), Corey Anderson (Lighting Design), Jake Cote (Sound Design & Assistant Stage Manager), Nick Irish (Costume Design), Stacey Koloski (Props/Set Design), Christine Marshall (Set/Props Design), and Stacey Collins (Graphics Design).

Playwright Nick Jones is a writer and co-producer of the critically-acclaimed Netflix series Orange is the New Black, which has garnered numerous accolades, including a Writer's Guild Award, Golden Globe, and Emmy nominations.

Founded in Portland in 1986, Mad Horse Theatre Company is celebrating its 30th Anniversary Season as a professional resident theater ensemble. The Company quickly developed a reputation for innovative interpretations of cutting-edge contemporary plays as well as the dramatic classics. Its mission has been the driving force behind a history of productions that have added to Maine's artistic enrichment and to the social discourse that is at the heart of a strong community.
