Hackmatack Playhouse's hit, The Producers, wraps up August 29 to make way for Masters of American Operetta scheduled for Friday and Saturday, September 4 and 5 at 8:00PM.

The Producers at Hackmatack features Dan Clay, Greg Kretschmar, Scott Smith, Steve Small, Jeff Seabaugh, and Alexis Handy. Two dozen others make up the ensemble and musicians.

Written by Mel Brooks, The Producers was a motion picture (1968) and Broadway hit (2005). Washed up Broadway producer Max and CPA Leo decide to plan the ultimate scam: to raise more money than needed for a sure-fire FLOP Broadway musical, Springtime for Hitler. Hackmatack patrons have been loving the show.

Hackmatack's post-season finale features Richard Conrad and The Bostonians presenting: Masters of American Operetta. "Hackmatackers" are invited to return for beloved music from the great American operetta composers Victor Herbert, Rudolf Friml, and Sigmund Romberg. The program includes excerpts from The Red Mill, Eileen, Babes in Toyland, Naughty Marietta, The Vagabond King, Rose Marie, The Desert Song, The New Moon, The Student Prince, and many more!

Tickets for The Producers and "Masters of American Operetta" at Hackmatack Playhouse, 538 School Street, Berwick, Maine, range from $10 to $22. Visit www.Hackmatack.org or call (207) 698-1807.

The Producers runs through August 29th with Wednesday through Saturday shows at 8 pm, and Matinees Thursdays at 2:00. Masters of American Operetta will be presented September 4 and 5 only (8PM).
