Chelsie Hightower to Replace Shawn Johnson in Ogunquit Playhouse's BALLROOM WITH A TWIST

The Ogunquit Playhouse, America's Foremost Summer Theatre has just announced that due to a family emergency, Olympic Gold Medalist Shawn Johnson is unable to perform in Ballroom with a Twist on stage at the Ogunquit Playhouse August 27 to August 31.

Dancing with the Stars professional dancer Chelsie Hightower is scheduled to replace Shawn in all shows during the weeklong engagement. For the past five years Chelsie has wowed audiences with her dancing skills as a professional dancer on the popular ABC show "Dancing with the Stars." Chelsie has assisted with choreography and danced for numerous musical guests on DWTS including: Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, Martina McBride, Goo Goo Dolls, Heart, Jewel, Susan Boyle and Melissa Etheridge. In July, 2010 she received a Creative Emmy nomination for Outstanding Choreography for her Dancing With The Stars routine, Paso Doble /Malaquena. She co- choreographed the piece with fellow DWTS professional dancer Derek Hough.

This sizzling show is back in Ogunquit by popular demand and also stars dance pro Anna Treybuskana along with Emmy Award nominated choreographer Dmitry Chaplin from Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance. Ballroom With A Twist also features Dancing with the Stars celebrity pro Oksana Dmytrenko, So You Think You Can Dance finalists Jonathan Platero, Randi Lynn Strong, Legacy and Jaymz Tuaileva and American Idol singers Von Smith and Gina Glocksen. This spectacular dancing and singing extravaganza is fun entertainment for the whole family - live at the Ogunquit Playhouse!
