Works by beloved composers like Stephen Sondheim, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Frank Loesser, Cy Coleman, John Kander and Fred Ebb, Harold Arlen, Claude Michael Schonberg and Alain Boublil, Stephen Schwartz, Jerry Herman and many more have failed on Broadway. Could it be the lack of a star? Shows that featured legendary stars like Angela Lansbury, Carol Channing, Lucille Ball, Robert Preston, Yul Brynner, Betty Buckley, Anthony Perkins, Christine Baranski and Nathan Lane have died a painful death on the Great White Way. Perhaps it's an unknown name?
